As the first day of the Aries zodiac sign, I enjoy playing with symbols associated with the ram. Here, I chose to feature the skull, which plays with the death of winter laying among fresh flowers indicating birth of spring.

I was inspired by Cam Rackam's color palette in "Summer in Hell" where he also depicts a skull (human) amongst similar flowers. I find drawing inspiration from my favorite current fine artists pushes me to try something new - in this case, a color palette I would not have considered.

This is the third Aries ram skull painting in my collection - the earliest dates back to 2014.
